College life is fast drawing to a close for you grads . . . soon all will be past tense . . . as you page through this last annual, scores of new faces will bring the realization that younger feet will soon tread the paths you are departing, the paths you started up several years ago when your lives at National first began . . . it's not difficult for youfseniors to recall your first days at N.C.E. . . . the stage of correspondence had passed . . . transcripts were in . . . programs were set . . . and you were here, though it was hard to comprehend, you were actually here at National . . . that week of achievement, psychology, and music tests was over . . . you were still shocked at your diverse talents and couldn't help wondering, "Is it all in vain?" Wondering stopped soon enough when you found yourselves struggling over themes in freshman English and cells in bio. lab . . . the second year arrived before you knew it . . . social studies and student teaching made the time pass quickly . . . at last you were a part of the traditional daisy chain . . . then quite suddenly you were juniors taking elective courses . . . exams came and went again . . . a brief rest and you began this, your last year, as seniors . . . despite all efforts to the contrary, spelling technique again appeared on your program . . . you found yourselves the heads of organizations . . . "placement" is a word that has taken on increased meaning . . . graduation has become a reality . . . and with the idea "creative self-expression" firmly fixed in your minds you are ready to begin a new life. i "' 1 ' f lf . ,.- , . . ...W--'W '.
