STUDENT The Student Council for 1958 and 1959 was under the advisorship of Mr, Emmett Shea and Mr. John Carlow The officers were George Williams Presi¬ dent; Sandra Chamberlain, Vice President; and Karen Moore, Secretary, The group of students forming the Student Coun¬ cil sponsored two dances. The first the Welcome Dance was held on September 19, the first social function of the year. The Football Dance was held on December 5, with Paul Ambler ' s orchestra to pro¬ vide the music. Students from Wayland High Schools Student Council visited Natick High School, and Natick ' s went to Wayland. They held this exchange to view different COUNCIL councils, their powers, methods of operating, and to find new ideas to help our school. Vito Capizzo was elected by the Student Council to receive the Jewish War Veteran Award. It is given to the person who best exemplifies the statement, Classmate Today, Neighbor Tomorrow. The Council also discussed a code of ethics for Natick High School. They plan many revisions for the Red and Blue Handbook, which is given to enter ing freshmen. Other things which were discussed were: Student dress, schedules for midyear and final exams, the school bulletin board, and changing eligU bility rules although no decision was reached on the latter 20
