We chose as our theme for the 1968 NA-HI-AN several lines from a Bible verse which indicate that there is a time for everything. As eloquently stated in Ec- clesiastes, "For everything there is a season and a time for every matter under heavenf' We feel that this particular topic is both universally understood and quite fitting. It restores proportion to many facets of this year,s school life: the loss of the league football championship redeemed by a hard-earned berth in the state basketball tournament g the innocence of the fresh- men and the cynicism of the Seniorsg the lack of enthusiasm at Pep Assemblies opposed to total support and participation of the student body during trying gamesg the introduction ofnew faculty faces and the loss of familiar ones such as that of Mr. Harvey Pierson who retired this year after over 30 years as a teacher in the State of Washington. if 1 I viii Q -gps, and a Time for Every Matter Under Heaven A Time to Keep and a Time t0 Cast Awa , m 3 2 Z 3 i 'Q 3 I ! i s 5 E E 3 gi Q 5 5 5 ,J ,ni . The action ran high when the lights were dimmed and two girls tussled savagely. It seems that a pause in the drama resulted when the doorbell failed to function properly. However, all things considered, the play went on smoothly and the curtains closed on a happy crew of Seniors. Mrs. Hillis, the play director, did a fine job in organizing the production and it is to her that the Seniors extend their thanks. my A, , ' H . wi? -'ff' bi: it 'Tl55iYii2Y5'Yf57f'i:?7I557?ZQif"'5253? 7 2 '59, ,, z riffmiifreii N , rf- ,A A -is :ff-7,V5,l.,,m gg gr ,V.pp , .,, V H ,,., .. ,, Senior Cl ass Play e be 'Q we zfi M' rw rr, 5 S 'Hs F 57- + Y .ef . -' .. .. ,,. .- .Srs,5,,m,. 4 V me .Q l ?' s f, r liz' Play Cast ophomore Hop Following the llwaco-Naselle Football game, the Sophomores had their annual Hop using the theme, "The Letterf' Inter-school relations were improved as the dance was attended by students from both schools. , ,..,. 1 ' :t ar E It l ,I ef' Pie Feed Those energetic students who sold 2 magazine subscriptions by a certain deadline received a hearty treat in the form of a pie feed in the school library. Fall Concert Mr. Redmond, our new music instructor, conducted his first concert at Naselle High School as he directed the High School band in some pleasing numbers. Mr. Redmond also conducted the Girls' Chorus in 3 songs: "Down Low in the Valley," "One Hand One Heartf' and "The Still of Night." The grade school band, which also performed did a very fine job. lg ,zlk Q 'ls ii fi gJ omets - First in League The Comets in taking the Pacific League Champion- ship, ran their score above the century mark 3 times during the regular season. Play consisted of double elimination but even though a loser moved into the losers bracket he still was in contention for a trophy. Two loses put the contestant out.
