I, JOSEPHINE TAYLOR, leave my love for NAPS to Peggy Carlos. This document was signed, sealed and approved, this lst day of June, 1948. The Senior Class. The Senior Class. L. ' I if Glau You see, it all started when I was very young, about one hundred I guess. Oh, don't look so surprised! That isn't old for a guardian X but since you don't know much about guardian angels I'll go on with my story. Oh, it was such a wonderful day in the celestial city, for it was the day that I was given my first assignment, and what an assign- ment it was! I was so excited that I could hardly keep from flapping my sanctified wings right off their hooks. I was to be the guardian angel for the NAPS Senior Class of '48Aon the planet Earth, of course. It was a mystery to me why such a glorified honor was bestowed upon me. I couldn't figure it out unless it had resulted from keeping my halo on straight, my wings on smooth, and my sandals shining, fI've A always been a very conscientious angelj. Well, I set about my task enthusiastically, determined to be the best guardian angel a senior l, M class ever had, and! was pretty good even if I do say so myself. I l f? 'Q K LGE ' watched over each girl and turned in my annual report on her, but I, now I have discovered an unforgivable mistake! I have failed to hand in my report for 1968 on the NAPS Senior Class. There is only one thing to do, and that is, pack my belongings and make an immediate and quick trip to Earth. In fact, I think I'll leave now. Could that be VIRGINIA ANNE TATUM I see? Why she's running for president of the U. S. ! She really has followed up her political lead. I'll go down a bit further and maybe I can pick up a little gossip. Well, sure enoughff I hear that BOOTS WEAVER is a retired Power's model, and was a good one too, in her day. Well, if it isn't professor NIMMO HOWARD. The Prof. is conducting an experiment in the splitting of electrons. She'1l probably be another Lavoisier. Perhaps if I hurry, I'll get to the city auditorium in time to hear the world's renowned EVELYN HALL give her lecture on Spanish, in Spanish. She always did take such an active part in Spanish class at NAPS. I'll scan through this newspaper and maybe I'll learn the whereabouts of some other NAPS alumnae. Well, what do you knowfANN ARMISTEAD is editor of "Georgia's Gossip of Gorgeous Gals" and here is an article by MARIAN PERSONS, "Americas Ace Foreign Correspondent". Why there's MARGARET MULLINS, a taxi-driver, and chauffeuring NAPS Students from the school to "Dusty's Delux Inn" on Figbranch Avenue. If it isn't too far I'll look up GLORIA WEATHERS' house. I understand she's an old married woman now, and spends most of her time singing lullabies to her Quin-tup- lets. Those blond hairs of NANCY BLAKE are beginning to turn a little grey. I guess being house-mother at the NAPS B. D. is too strenuous a job. ZOE ANN WINDHAM has become famous since her book was published. It's called "How to Stop Biting Your Fingernails in Ten Easy Lessons". It's really surprising how things turn out. For there is PAT HALEY, teaching acro- batics to the children of old Napsites. I hear that DODIE HAMMOND is really 'hep' to all the new tunes, but what disc jockey wouldn't? REBECCA POWELL made her first million as a hair stylist. I understand she is working on her latest called "A Copious Collection of Colors for your Coiffeur". BETSY FORMAN has become a great writer and critic. They say she is the Shake- speare of the 20th Century. Another in the professional world is JEAN SKENDER. She turned out to be a very good veterinarian. If I drift down to the Sigma Chi house at Tech, I'm liable to find JOAN JORDAN. Good fraternity, good housemotherwwhat more could I ask for'? Don't tell me that is FRANCES BOLDING! What's that creation she has on top of her head? I guess a sombrero topped with mayonnaise is relatively sane for a hat de- signer. It seems that NETTIE HUME has formed a one-man company in Hollywood. I imagine she stays pretty busy being actor, producer, director, and writer. My, such talent Z I ! MARY THOMPSON is really doing her share in helping humanity. She has opened a consulting department and specializes in "Advice to the Lovelorn". 26 ,, ' ,,l.... ,T1 1 ,-QI Y '47 f' S- F -if - Y " , K, i if 4 YR 1' - 5:-1- ., . , ,- 1 -11, ,filf lf 2 - 'f' " fl ns? g 'H Tqmfe- f.f, "' 4 5" 1, . 1-1' J-si-, pwfhw? Two other Napsites have become famous. ANNETTE WICKHAM and MARY JANE LARGEN sing commercials over the radio. I'm sure that they are very much in demand. Talking about air .... I believe that I saw DOTTIE SMITH, the neatest little air hostess ever, on that airplane I passed on my way down to earth. I bet she really loves it up there in the clouds. I guess that BARBARA TWIGGS became so attached to NAPS that she couldn't tear herself away. She has joined the faculty now, and teaches kindergarten to all the prospective problems for "guardian angels". I overheard that NAPS really has a basketball team. They've stayed unbeaten for the last three years. That's what comes from having JEAN ARMSTRONG as the coach. FLORENCE KING is the new president of the NAPS P. T. A. I hear that they are working toward a new gym. NAN FRANKEL still has her winning smile. She has been appointed by President Tatum to serve as minister to Russia. I'm sure they can't help agreeing on something. A famed dancer is FRANCES BOSTICK. She made famous the "volleyball kick". NANCY HIRSCH made her first million through the release of her recipe for "Hirsch Puppies". ATALANTE ANASON has been chosen Miss Atlas of 1968. Her muscles and strength have really proven to be a credit to her. So BETTY DODD is a huge success! A Guardian Angel never misses anything. Why, I just saw Betty's dress shop-'Dodd owned and Dodd operated. It looked mighty cute. The most popular nursery in town is owned by CORRIE HOYT. It seems she has developed a new device for the care of babies. Her motto is "Just drop them in and let the machine do the rest." The famous and wealthy JANE GATEWOOD is now in the headlines. I heard that she was working on a secret invention called "Quick Dry". She hasn't revealed its use. ANNE ROWLAND has become America's best dressed woman, but that's only natural, for she buys all her clothes from the Dodd Shop. The recently elected "best comedienne of the year" is BETTEJO GOLDSMITH. They say she's a scream in television. DORANNE JENNINGS made a quick rise to the top when she opened her restaurant. I am told that at "Jennings Jointnffood is cooked in thirty seconds by a specially equipped oven, complete with atomic ray and potato peeler. It seems that JEWEL SETZER really turned out to be a 'jewel'. She has the reputa- tion of being the most glamorous gal in Hollywood. I feel that vandalism will surely come to an end, for her Honor, J OSEPHIN E TAYLOR, is working hard as judge of the juvenile court. Aside from all her housework, I see that MARY BLANCHE SALE is president of the Garden Club. Keep 'em growing, Mary Blanche! One of the most dangerous occupations chosen by a Napsite is that of PEGGY MCTYRE. She is a tight rope walker in a circus. HELEN ANN PRATHER is really an important person around NAPS. She has taken up her residence just around the corner from the school-sand tutors the students to success. Poor Abbieffever since ABBIE ALEXANDER studied American History in those long ago days at NAPS, she has tried to become appointed Secretary of Treasury. Just another Hamilton I guessfAlexander, that is. I was very glad to hear about JACKIE OLIVER. She's a big executive and operates a company of 5000 employees. Her reproduction of the old fashioned streetcar really went over with a bang! As if girls weren't beautiful enough already, MARY LUCILE BORN invented a com- plete new set of cosmeticsfguaranteed to "take you back ten years". QIf I were not a guardian angel, I'd try them myself.l Well, bless me! Don't tell me that's all! I really hate to leave, but if I am going to get this report in on time, I must fasten on my golden-edged wings, summon the heaven-bound cloud and be off-but before I go, I'd like to leave my regards to Clarence CHe's the guardian angel for the class of '49J.
