THE SCHOOL The oldest school record remaining is dated September 7, 1896, and men- tions S. W. Baer and Emma M. Holland as teachers. A record of 1904 lists S. W. Baer, Otto Bayse and E. M. Hoover as instructors. The high school started in September, 1894, with ten graduates in the first class of May, 1 898. Some of these ten are still living in Nap- panee. From 1898 to and including 1923, there were 438 graduates. Dur- ing the past nineteen years, including 1942, there have been 1050 graduates. The Class of 1937, consisting of 68 graduates is the largest class ever to graduate. The Class of 1901 with 3 graduates is the smallest. J. A. Abell

But as we travel onward we will carry with us the knowledge we have gained these last four years. We shall always remember the teachers who have worked so hard to give us this knowledge and experience which will help us to make a place in the world for our- selves. In the future our nation will need lead- ers, more so than ever before. Up to now we have had helpful guidance, but soon we shall have to make more of our own deci- sions.
