We wish them the best of luck. Rams Upset Undefeated Carrolltown The encouraged Ram team came from behind in the second half to beat the un- defeated Carrolltown Mountaineers. Car- rolltown struck first blood by scoring in the second quarter, but in the second half Swartz blocked an enemy punt which was picked up by Tackle John Travis who ran 15 yards for the touchdown. In the last quarter Eugene Normand plowed over from the 3-yard line making the score at 12-6 in favor of the Rams. -.U -.,,,T-1,--.-,-,--. -F 1- - .-wr -V , Nanty-Glo Edges Hastings by 7-6 Margin Hastings received the opening kick-off and made a drive of 65 yards for a score but missed the point. Nanty-Glo then re- ceived the ball and moved 75 yards for the tying touchdown by Ed Brusko. The point was converted by Swartz, giving Nanty-Glo its final victory. Rams Tripped by Franklin Nanty-Glo opened the game with two quick touchdowns by Travis' blocked punt in which he ran 25 yards for the touchdown and Shuman's 40-yard heave from Leonard in the first frame making the score 13-0. Franklin came back to make the score at half-time 19-13 in fa- vor of Franklin. Both teams scored again in the last quarter with Ed Brusko taking a 10-yard pass to end the scoring in favor of Franklin 26-20. Nanty-Clo Loses Second in Row to Spangler Nanty-Glo fell in defeat to Spangler 'by a 20-13 margin even though statistics were heavily in favor of Nanty-Glo. After Spangler scored. Leonard plunged over to tie the score. Spangler again scored. Then Leonard hit Shuman with a 15-yard aerial for Ram's Hnal score. Spangler scored in the last frame for the winning touchdown. The Rams were within the Spangler 10- yard line twice in the last frame but failed to score either time. Rams Lose Final to Portage, 20-0 For ten of our senior boys this was their last high-school game, and probably for many of them it was their last foot- ball game. Although injuries hampered the Rams, they showed spirit and fight. This was the only game of the season in which the Rams failed to score. Portage scored in every period but the first, to tack the worse loss of the season on the Rams. The 1953 Echo Varsity l:lN'l'l'll'Zllll'l'S YI m lv!! -IS Uunnhlwn C' cullhllitll, A. li.xlcn.xk. .l.
