leadership of Dee Gray, president, and was so successful that an exceptional prom was assured. This affair was held at the Masonic Temple, May 4, 1939, in an attractive Hawaiian setting, gay with beach umbrellas, tropical flowers, palms and modernistic lighting effects. Dee Gray was elected class president for 1939-40, having served in that same othce during his Junior year, Other oihcers chosen were: Bob Metzger, vice-president, Rina Yamamoto, secretaryg VC'ally Howard, treasurer, and Carl Minden, Senior representative. Ably assisting the group were Miss Edna Minden and Mr. Dean Davidson, advisers. Early in the year the decision was made to wear caps and gowns at the Baccalaureate and Commencement exercises. Living up to their motto, Forward Alwaysn, many of the seniors interested them- selves in the various school activities by taking prominent places on the football, basket- ball, baseball and track teams as well as working on publications and music contests. The Senior Luncheon, one of the outstanding social functions of the year, was held May 21. A clever theme was carried out in decorations, favors and programs. Vance Vogel served as general chairman for this occasion. Working with him were O. Young, decorationsg Flora Bastida, program, Frances Togstad, menu, Willis johnson, finance: and Roberta Ord, place.
