students were elected as Student Rotarians: W'ally Howard, Don Anderson, Carl Frahm, Fielding Abbott, Bob Simmons, Bill Mangum, Fred jordan and Charles Robbins. The most important variation the council instituted this year was spring election of student body officers. This constitutional change affords an opportunity for the officers to be elected in the spring and begin their official duties as soon as school convenes the next fall. Another obligation that these students have assumed for the past five years is the selection of yell duke and duchess. Those elected are representatives of the junior class and will serve in the offices of yell king and queen the following year. Stuart Heyser and Carol Vincent were chosen. The selections made by Miss Kennedy for Growl Staff positions and Miss La Fond and Mr. Stanford for Sage Staff positions are also subject to the approval of the council each year. Cleaning up the trophy case and keeping students off the lawn were among the projects sponsored in an effort to improve the appearance of Nampa High. An exclusive Student Council party was given at the suggestion of Fielding Abbott, president. The gala affair was held at the home of a fellow member, Frank Murphy. The party proved such a success that in the spring the governing body planned another social which was held at Lake Lowell. To show their appreciation of the help and cooperation received from Mr. Cowin, the council presented him with a lovely gift. The completion of these varied activities concluded a busy year for the Student Council members. f , 1 L K' 1 V! ff at ca fold. 'si 4- . -. . Q9 ,, Kwai 1? Top Row: C. Minden, W. Schey, V. Vogel, W.
