Marty, as head cheerleader, will be remembered for her conscientious leadership in fostering school spirit in NHS. Her scholastic ability, dependability, and unwavering loyalty have gained the respect and admiration of faculty and student body. Marty has helped establish the "Champion Image" by cheering the teams to victory so often in the past, that NHS will be cheering for her success in future endeavors. We predict that she will reflect honor upon her Alma Mater. PHYLLIS COUSSONS . . . This aspiring future teacher with the sweet smile and shy manner has been an integral part of campus activities. Her Winsome ways, bubbling beauty, and poised performance of duty have established her as a school favorite and a cheerleader, reciprocally appreciated by team members who chose her as their basketball and football queen. N.H.S. will miss Phyllis and wishes the best for her future. JOHN GERBER . . . John holds a place in the hearts of the faculty and student body of NHS unmatched by any, for it has been won not by his seeking a place of hcnor, but by John's day-by-clay heroism, his modest, genial personality, and his un- swerving loyalty and devotion to our school. John has, from his wheelchair, inspired all of us. 43 Whois Who STEPHEN WALLACE . . , From time to time there appears among us rare individuals who have found their "stars" and who, even while cheerfully and dutifully assuming the numerous responsibilities of school life amid many distractions, seem to move steadfastly toward those stars. Such an individual is Stephen Wallace, whose career in Nacogdoches High School has been noteworthy in achievements and honors, not only in scholastic attainments but also in such extracurricular activities as debating, drama, and creative writing. His disciplined, inquiring mind and his courteous, refined manner are marks of a "scholarly gentleman" who will, doubtless, in the future bring additional honors both To himself and to his Alma Mater. We are proud of Stephen, and we shall follow his career with interest and pride. FLORENCE ELLIOTT . . . Even the name of this student, in whom NHS takes much pride, reflects the enviable traits that she possesses. F-Friendliness and faithfulness to service L-Loyalty and literary appreciation O-Outstanding organizational ability R-Real sense of responsibility E-Efficiency as Editor of THE DRAGON ECHO N-Neatness and National Merit Commendation C-Courteous, charming, and cooperative E-Exemplary behavior 44 GRADY ALLEN . . . Grady, Mr. NHS of '63-64, has received many well deserved hcnors throughout his high school career, Who's Who would be lacking without his name. Grady has found the real values that a school has to offer, and he has explored them to the fullest. Subiect matter, student activities, and athletics-he has been a leader in all three. Fine grades, cooperative spirit, plus a three year letterman in baseball, bas- ketball, and football captain and All-District End present a lesson and an example for all of us to remember. Although Grady's honors are many, he puts much into his endeavors. abilities so needful in being successful. His future star shines brightly upo a field of high school achievements, especially his outstanding success i the FFA competition which will be long remembered. NHS will mis Gene's quiet manner of doing many iobs well. , ,Q i -K Nl.. .,.,.., r. ... 4 MT., - 'M ,,, . xv, , V4 VQf25Q,g,g1iz,Vifszg5 Veg: V iawiifyilf' 'fglgxiizxwy 61 2 , we-V' fer L.
