We were honored this year by the presence of Mr. Earl R. Cooley. former in- structor of the Myrtle Point Chapter and now state supervisor of agriculture education. Approximately 200 guests attended the banquet. This year, as an added attraction to the State Convention at Oregon State College, the boys spent two days in Portland as guests of the Union Stock Yards. The Future Farmers of America are rapidly attaining their goal of be- coming the leaders of tomorrow. The Pointer 1941 Football The Myrtle Point Bobcats enjoyed a very successful football season and finished in second place in the League The champions North Bend were defeated only once and this was by the Bobcats who won 4 games and lost two The Bobcats started the season the tough way with three players in Jured in their first game with Marshfield on September 28 This vtas a de cidmg factor in the 7 to 6 victory for Marshfield On October 5 the Bobcats met the Bandon Tigers on the home field and vxon a 27 to 20 victory The Bobcats held a 27 to 7 lead and the re serves finished the game on the top to win their first game of the season On October 19 the Bobcats traveled to Ashland for a non conference game The game was played at night under the lights thus handicapping the Bobcats who had not played under lights Ashland won 19 to 7 but it was a nice trip for the team The Big Game of the season took place on October 26 when the Bobcats defeated the North Bend Bulldogs by a 19 to 12 score The rea son this was, perhaps the biggest game was because of the dedication of the new grandstand on the Bobcats stamping ground. The Bobcats developed a blitzkrieg aerial attack and won the easy way with 'Sutphin passing to Harry Brown for the final touchdown. Sutphin to Duncan was good for the extra point making the final score 19 to 12. On November 2 the Bobcats journeyed to Bandon to play in the mud and water about 6 to 8 inches deep.
