MSC--AN ABUN ANCE OF EXPRESSIGNS Joy, grief, anticipation, fear, confidence, enthusiasm, nonchalance, nostalgia, laughter, tears, love, hate, dis- appointment-These are but a few of the myriad modes of expression so intense, yet so fluxuating, in the lives of all collegiates. The experiences of this vast range of emotions and the incidents which elicit them help mold the intricately variable and intelligent young adults who will leave the hallowed halls of Academia to enter the competitive world of today. College life serves as the last stage of semi-dependence before launching into the demands of responsibility and independence apart from the college campus. One must experience and learn to accept not only love, joy, and laughter, but frustration, disappointment and tears if he is to become a well-bal- anced, mature adult. This is all an important part of those memorable years known as college life. -

Tl-HS AND Tl-l T Much interest was generated in the presidential campaign by the appearance of Senator Strom Thurmond on the MSC campus, A festive atmosphere prevails at AOII's booth at the Spring Carnival. Murray State is much like other state colleges of com- parable size-MSC students, like those elsewhere, com- plain about 7:30 classes, rain, cafeteria food, exams, and the administration . . . School spirit is generated for the BIG games . . . the campus is constantly expanding but can not keep up with the ever-increasing influx of stu- dents. But MSC' has a personality all its own . . . Dr. Lowry . . . the Hut . . . Club 641 . . . Kentucky -Lake . . . Colonel Booth . . . the Student Org. Newsletter . . . such a wide variety of architecture . . . Western Kentucky accents . . . no parking space . . . the Shield oflice . . . WNBS . . . Lightning Key . . . Committee A . . . a cultural desert . . . red and green tennis courts . . . and of course, College Farm Road. The pictures on these two pages characterize this distinctive personality. Adding color and spirit to the football games this fall was Alpha Gamma Rho's runaway goat.
