RUSH! RUSH! Tl-IE GREEKS' From amid the infinite piles of books, papers, and assignments comes the Greek call of today. Its echoes can be heard throughout the world wherever man's love for man exists as a spirit of mutual understanding for the achievement of common goals. Almost as old as our nation, the Greek voice has continued to ring loud and strong on the campuses of most colleges and universi- ties. The formal rush programs carried on by the Greek organizations at MSC are approximately the same in length and entail similar systems of fraternal salesman- ship. Rushees are greeted with a firm handshake and pleasant smile characteristic of active members who have spent weeks in preparation of the rush program. In spite of a strict quota system placed on sororities and the need for additional fraternal organizations, the Greeks are an integral part of campus life at Murray State. Rushees were entertained by The Mexican Hat Dance at the Tri-Sigma party. CALL CDP TCD Y

AOII placed second in float competition with A-Salt the Eagles. Under new contest rules, Trudy Russell became MSC's first Homecoming Queen. FIRST HOMECOMING VICTORY SINCE 1954 The theme seemed to be yell like hell as fraternities partici- pated in the Thoroughbred Spirit contest. A All the Way Big Blue . . . Let's go!-And they did, Murray State's victorious 32nd Homecoming had all the necessary components . . . a beautiful Southern fall day, unleashed enthusiasm and spirit, a great marching bandg a Homecoming Spirit contest sponsored by the cheerleaders, a parade with floats which were definite- ly above par and were the result of ingenius ideas, pep pills and no-doz, and much, much work, a lovely Queen, and most important, VICTORY! The highlight of the day was the 28-21 Win over Tennessee Tech, the first Homecoming victory for the Racers since 1956. There were also open houses and teas for the alumni and the Homecoming Dance to top the day's festivities in grand style.
