All the confusion, hope and endeavor of the preceeding years brought the achievement of today. From the confusion of the first year came the hope of the second, from hope came endeavor — and now, from all these comes achievement. The sheet of paper bearing our diploma is a symbol of years of work — a symbol in which we can take pride. The significance of the three stars on our Shield comes to life for us as we realize fully the ideals and goals of Murray State College. 14
