Our Teachers And Counselors Give Us Guidance Mr. Tripp Constantly on the go day after day trying to keep the wheels of Murray turning is Leslie E. Tripp, principal. Aside from his duties in the school, Mr. Tripp confers with principals of other scho-ols and tries to seek out ways in which to improve the school system. Mr. Tripp has been here nine years and has stimulated many changes at Murray. Having attended Macalester Col- lege and the University of Minnesota, he holds Bache- lor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees. Mr. Tripp is also a loyal fan at Murray athletic events. Mr. Palmer Miss Rose Mr. Simmelink For five years Mr. Donald Simmelink has been the assistant principal at Murray High School. Many have become acquainted with him if they have received a green slip from the office. Others recognize him as he walks through the halls keeping -check on students' behavior. Formerly, he was assistant principal at Mar- shall Junior High School and Central High School. Having attended River Falls State College and the University of Minnesota, he holds Bachelor of Arts in Education and Master of Arts degrees. In charge of guidance at Mur- ray are Miss Gladys Rose and Mr. James Palmer. They are constantly kept busy taking care of every- thing from determining the correct program for each student to straightening out any difficulties a student might have in school. Miss Rose is a graduate of Ham- line University. Before becoming a counselor, she taught chemistry at Mechanic Arts High School. She has been at Murray twelve years. Mr. Palmer, who has been here ten years, is a graduate of the University of Minnesota. Ze-

Which Helps Us To Be Better Citizens Of The Future Mrs. Trost Mr. King Mr. Addison Mr. Broderick X- Mrs. Ruth Trost is the senior clerk at Murray. Among her many duties are keeping attendance and recording of students' grades. Mrs. Betsy Barnes is familiar to all as the lady who signs excuses. She is Murray's junior clerk and has been a member of the oitice staFi for five years. Mrs. Viola Peterson, Murray's school nurse, is a graduate of Bethesda Hospital and the University of Minnesota schools of nursing. She is on the nurses' board of directors at Bethesda. Mr. Leon King has been the school librarian for two years. He is a graduate of Winona State College and the University of Minnesota. His outside inter- ests include hunting, golfing and playing bridge. Mrs. Doris Olds has been Murray's social worker for four years. She is a graduate of Whitman Col- lege and the University of Chicago. Mr. Bill Addison, Murray's Latin teacher, is also a familiar face to senior English students. He is a graduate of Ball State Teachers College and the University of Minnesota. His outside interests include reading, swimming and traveling. Mrs. Margaret Berdahl, Murray's German teacher, also is advisor for German Club and the German Round Singers. She is a graduate of Augustana Col- lege. Her outside interests include reading. One of Murray's many coaches is Mr. Bernard Broderick, hockey, cross country and tennis coach. An instructor of mathematics, he attended the Uni- versity of Minnesota, the University of North Dakota and St. Cloud State College. A new addition to Murray's faculty is Mr. Ronald Causton, social studies teacher. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota.
