atmen Strong Performers The gymnastic team, coached by Mr. Vernon Petersen, placed sixth in the city meet. In doing so three mem- bers of the team obtained high scores. They were senior captain Roger Lep- pla, who placed fifth on the horse, junior John Hellickson, Who placed fourth on the parallel bar, and fresh- man Michael Sullivan, who placed fourth on the high bar. Tankers Capture Second Place Murrayls swimming team climaxed its best dual meet season in years with a 49-36 victory over John- son. All-American John Bergman of Johnson broke the official national high school mark in the 100-yard butterfly, but that was not enough to keep the Pilots from winning. The tankers trounced Mechanic Arts 75-4 and Harding 50-33. The final city meet of the conference saw the Murray Pilots place second in the city meet with a score of 89. Central won the city title with 12316 points.
