Pilots P1 ay Role Murray's senior varsity hockey team began the season with high hopes of victory. The first con- ference game against Wilson saw Murray lose 3-2. Wilson scored three goals in the first nine minutes of the first period. Murray came back strong but was unable to score the tying goal. The next game saw Murray defeat Harding 2-1. In this game the Pilots took a 2-0 lead. A hard shot of Upset Team from the blue line by Doug Krause gave Murray a 1-O lead. Tom Sergot tallied with the winning goal in the second period. In the following games with powerful Washing- ton and Central, Murray lost 4-2 and l-0 re- spectively. The junior varsity team won the city title and the Twin City championship by playing spectacular hockey. Wilson's defense men, numbers 23, 25, are concen- trating on Murray's Terry Vasterling as he tries to pass to Murray's Tom Sergot.
