t make thus a wonderful lufe State Hockey Tournament Playoffs really kept the crew busy The band s performances proved that they de erved the acclaim that they have received un newspapers and magazines as well as un musucal circles The basketball season councuded with hockey and as they did not want to show any partualuty the band ap peared at many of the basketball games to add sparkling melody to the proceedungs Frequent pep assemblies for all the sports during the year wee favored by the students To help push the thc re of pep the band provuded marches with sturrung passages Always on call fou these assemblies the band turned un many a performance on short notice and they always had Colors Are Flying down pat Several Parent Teacher Associations both grade school and Murray were hosts to the harmonious company January twenty hfth found the band members on hand transportation s no problem nor Lorene Thompson Chuck Eude and Duck Slund have fun un thus busu ness of skating and playing Ducks drum attests to over enthusuasm to welcome the out of town speed skaters Thus was their only appearance un connectuon with the annual St Paul Vtfunter Carnival A merry affair was the banquet guven March twenty eughth when the band celebrated its successful year Several held trups were also made by the band All the members traveled to St Cloud twuce to entertaun at the Veterans Admunustration Ho putal The B P O E re quested and sponsored these trups The bands sprung concert the highlight of the years work included un its repertoure a great varuety of song Comedy marches classical and popular arrangements were all represented un this recital to Guttersen school as a hnal memory of a wonderful e us musuc on skates Note the apprecuatuve expressions on the faces of Mr Alexander Heron Ruta Pedersen and Jum Sabun as they gratefully transport their un truments vua Mr Heron s trauler I C' Page seventeen O ' Il ' ll ' .
