'55 rf y 12th grade students discuss Shakespeare's times. English Department All study is dependent on a knowledge and comprehension of the English language. The mechanics of a language are always the most important part, however, the literature expresses the feelings of the people. It is very important to become familiar with the ideas of great writers of the past and fthe present. Many of these writers and their illeiis are studied or touched on 'VZ' during the three year course of study at Murrah. Not only to speak correctly, but to express oneself more precisely is a very important aim of all, and both are emphasized at lVlurrah. Three years of English are required for grad- uation which shows the importance placed upon this subject.
