nterested In Friendl Competition
To promote the interest of all students in sports the
Physical Education Department sponsored intramural ac-
tivities for the first time this year. This program enabled
more individuals to develop interest and skill in athletics.
To attract the maximum number of students, the depart-
ment offered a wide range of sports. Participants achieved
personal recognition through competition for the indi-
vidualg through teams they learned the need for coopera-
tion. Murphy students took advantage of this opportunity
in varying numbers: seventy-three participated in table
tennis, forty went bowling, ninety played volleyball, thirty-
six played basketball, and six ran track, during the season.
