They won only one game, against Wauconda 3- 0, but they showed improvement through- out the season. 'lWe did better than last year, said Karen Verschoor. girls' soccer he varsity girls' soccer team had its best season yet. The conference with a 10-5-4 re- cord. Although the team had only been in existance three years this season, they broke 19 re- cords, including most wins, goals and shu- touts in a season. They also won a shutout victory against Highland Park in the Re- gional Tournament. Junior goalie Rita Apostaludias had ten shutouts and holds the school record. Sen- ior Anne Press and freshman Chris Get- zinger were named most improved players for their steady improvement and consis- tency throughout the season. Junior Linda Cardona was named MVP. She led the state in scoring with 28 goals and held the school record for most goals and assists in a season and career.
