They won only one game, against Wauconda 3- 0, but they showed improvement through- out the season. 'lWe did better than last year, said Karen Verschoor. First year Coach Paul Aguilar said, The girls really worked hard although our record really doesn't show it.'l 143

girls' soccer he varsity girls' soccer team had its best season yet. The conference with a 10-5-4 re- cord. Although the team had only been in existance three years this season, they broke 19 re- cords, including most wins, goals and shu- touts in a season. They also won a shutout victory against Highland Park in the Re- gional Tournament. Junior goalie Rita Apostaludias had ten shutouts and holds the school record. Sen- ior Anne Press and freshman Chris Get- zinger were named most improved players for their steady improvement and consis- tency throughout the season. Junior Linda Cardona was named MVP. She led the state in scoring with 28 goals and held the school record for most goals and assists in a season and career.
