THE 1964 CANUSARAGO The staff of the 1964 Canusarago proudly presents the 22nd edition of our yearbook. We hope the material i'n this book has captured in words and pictures, a source of fond memories for each one of youg so you may look through the pages of this yearbook and recall all thelwonderful experiences you had in 1964. The staff would like to extend grateful acknowledgements to the follow- ing people who helped- make this yearbook possible-Mr. Stanley Schyler, our advisorg Mr. Carl Chambers, our consultant from Delmar Printing Companyg The Prestwood Photography Company, Mr. Paul Gresh, our Principalg Mrs. Ruth Hartzell, the High School Secretaryg and the many other people who made this publication possible. -The Yearbook Staff-- 2 THE ROAD NOT TAKEN Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both A A'nd be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowthg Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same, And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence 5 Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--I I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference. -- Robert Frost m f --V W' SL' El A lag, - ,vi WE DEDICATE GUR YEARBOOK TO YOU, MR. Gymnasts are among the world's least pub- licized athletes. They execute in a single evening more daring and more muscular feats than some football and basketball players are called upon to do in an entire season. But their activities lack the so-called "mob appeal" and during a full season at- tract as many spectators as are lured to a baseball park in a single afternoon. Gymnastics has such a wide range of movements as to attract the most awkward beginner or the most extremely well trained performer, it is interesting because the movements are useful in many of life's sit- uations. However, to become a skilled gym- nast many hours of practice and a great deal of patience are required. Under the direction of Mr. Sauress, the Athletic Director, our gym team has pro- gressed from 'a minor sport of interest to only a few students to a competitive varsity sport. - , . "THE CLASS OF l964" For the past three years, the senior class through the guidance of Mr. William Maro'ney, our class advisor, has worked successfully to earn the funds that are necessary for the yearbook and other senior activities. During our senior year, we will never forget-Mr. Grieco's birthday party when he wasn't there and the stomach aches we got from the stale cake we had when he finally did come back . . . the mad rush downstairs everyday at 12:29 the Beatle Mania that hit a few of our seniors particularly hard . . . the huge snowstorm that "unfortunately" caused our school to close for two days . . . our beautiful May Day . . . those long Year- book marathons which finally produced' this book . . . the dazed expression on the face of a trig student after a two-day test . . . the days when the mumps and measles diminished the number of our Senior Class . . . the hours wasted i'n "various activities" in study hall . . . the Senior Class's "celebrations" before Christmas vacation . . . the hours toiling over practice sets . . . the fun we had preparing for The Night of January 16th . . . those cold, wet mornings decorating the football field . . . all the news we got from Mr. Lynn Poust . . . the big upset of the year, MUN CY 23, BEN 22 . . . those exciting physics labs . . . the big lock hunt when Mr. Gresh confiscated all un- locked locks . , . the sore backsides of the students who came in contact with Mr. Zukauckas's paddle all the time we spent in the office pestering Mrs. Hartzell . . . the wild episodes handed in as short stories for Mrs. Benion . . . our lovely Senior Prom . . . Class Day-and our Big moment-GRADUA- TION. We would like to express our most sincere thanks to Mr. Maroney who helped to make our last days at Muncy High School memorable ones. Our school has molded us into the individuals that we are. We, as the "Class of 64", will endeavor to use to the best, not only all that we have learned' during our school years, but also, all those experiences gained through living as a member of the society we cherish, honor and shall uphold so long as we live. it A 51 'x xg i3B ii X 'NXimeQivQQQ5 Judith Kay Anderson Academic Donna Marlene Bachle Business Education 1-'ji If 6 ff'4l,, ,lf f I 1" I V9 ,I ff ,.
