e, the Seniors of 1947, feel that our Annual would not be
complete Without pausing to express our thanks to the school
board. These men, who are representative of our community,
give unselfishly of their time and best efforts so that We may
have the best training possible to fit us to live. To our deep
regret Mr. Chambers, President of the board, and Mr. Mosier,
Secretary, are resigning this year. These two men have served
our community for many years in this capacity and We can
only say that they stand out in our minds as shining examples
and We hope that We may be useful citizens as they have been.

This httle crystal sphere holds all of the past and all the future It can re
veal the hidden and make known the secret It can tell you whatever your soul
desires to know I have been asked to search in its magic depths until I dis
cover the future that awatts the members of our class so soon to take their
separate ways and perhaps never to be reunited I see the members of the
Senior Class of 47 ten years from now
This mist is clearing A village scene appears I see a church The bells
are ringing It 1S Sunday morning The people are coming to the SSYVICG I see
the minister a f1ne looking man and by his side walks his wife Her face IS
turned away but I can see it is one we know The congregation greets them
cordially They are much loved Now she turns I see her face It is Mary Lou
Ethridge She looks very happy and appears to be an tdeal minister s wife
The scene changes It is a large city We are in the business district I am
looking at a large factor, I las a huge electr1c sign reading Binion s Best
Toilet Soap Thousands of men are leaving for the six o clock whistle has
Just blown Last of all Iames come from his office He has grown partly gray
about the temples but lse IS as immaculate as a toilet soap manufacturer
should be H1s motto carved above his office door IS I keep the World
Clean
The clouds l1ft again It IS nine oclock on a May morning The school
bells are ringing Tiny kindergarten children are hurrying up the walk to
greet their teacher She stands in the door daintily dressed As she leans
It is La Verne Smith
Now the scene changes to a ranch section of Arizona I see a large exclu
sive dude ranch It is a very busy place and wealthy people are spending
the winter here They are very fond of the owner of this Tumbling I winter
resort I see a man coming on a beautiful horse and he IS r1d1ng well The
people turn to look at him and as he rides nearer I recognize him It IS
Iohnie Wood Iohnie tells me he has the worlds finest horses and is doing
nicely for himself
As the mist clears again and I see a large Ladies Ready to Wear shop
Up on the top floor of this skyscraper I see the owner s office There s a young
lady taking d1ctat1on from the boss htmself As I go closer I see the girl is
Charlotte Hobbs Wouldnt you know she would be a secretary or something
of the sort?
The mists blot out the scene and when they clear away the ground is
covered with ice and snow The wind wails through the tall sentinel pines
A figure rides toward me He wears a stunning uniform He looks handsome
and he seem to know it He stops his horse and reads a s1gn offering many
thousand dollars reward for the capture of a murderer at large in the Ccrnadian
Forest He smiles and says The Mounties always get their man He is one
of those romantic heroes a Northwest Mounted Policeman As he rides nearer
I recognize h1m He is Dwain Medford more handsome than ever
The scene changes to a resident al section of a large city I see a very
pretty little house with a neat little lawn It is late IH the afternoon I hear
noises coming from the k1tche 1 Pots and pans are being bonged obout There
is a t1ny blonde girl doing the banging She looks very nice 1n a house dress
and apron but she also looks very flustered The reason for this IS very obvi
ous It is six o clock and Altha Mae shusband will be home soon
