It has been said, and wisely so, that "We hold the world in our hands."
With that thought in mind we have decided it fitting that we dedicate our
1955-56 Muletmin to "our hands"-keeping in mind ever, that if we are to
hold the world in them, we must prepare ourselves in such a way as to use
them wisely-both physically and spiritually. So it is, that we say-"WE HOLD
THE WORLD IN OUR HANDS--MAY WE NEVER BETRAY OUR
OPPORTUNITIES." 3

Although football season is over, work still continues for the spring twirling contest.
To be a majorette or Drum Major one takes on many responsibilities. He has to
be able to play an instrument along with keeping the band members morale high. We
had excellent assistant twirlers this year who were Nan Allison, Nell Ghalson and
Sherry Allison.

Although tennis is very
new in M.H.S. these girls are
playing in interscholastic
league this year. Mary jo will
play singles, while Elaine and
Linda Lou will compete in
doubles. All three have par-
ticipated in this sport in dis-
trict before with fairly good
luck. XWe're expecting good
returns this year also.

Although not so publicized, Golf is
a sport of several years standing at M.H.S.
These boys seem to be looking forward
to a good game! Bo, Richard, Don, Dick,
and Senn are coming along fine in their
first season of golf. Terry Dill, as gl
new pupil, was ineligible for district
play, but entered the pre-season matches.
Stanley Fox was the only returning golfer
from last year's team.

This being the first year for sched-
uled junior High games, the seventh
and eighth grades did a very out-
standing job.
The eighth grade team played 10
games and won 9, while the seventh
grade finished with a 2-2 record.
The training they get while in
junior High helps them to prepare
for high school competition.

Basketball is not new in
junior High for it has been
organized for several years.
Out of thirteen games the
eighth grade boys have won
10 and lost only 3. So far
these boys have only played
in one tournament, the Sudan
Tournament, but they have
been invited to others and
will play in them.
