It has always tried to tell the truth and sometimes, on special occasions, it has beat faster to please its loved ones. It isn't happy unless its children are at home. Yes, ever faithful, and especially to the Senior Class of '52, It's beloved class has named it "old faithful" which meats more than the majority could ever guess. Believe it or not but last week when everyone had left school and Mr. Rose was cleaning up the hall, the old clock began to weep. Mr. Rose immediately ran in and said, "Why, what's the matter?" Then he got the oil, and put some three-in-one oil in its back. But the old clock continued tocry Mr. Rose wiped its tears away and suddenly the old clock spoke: "Oil won't help me. lt isn't my back that's hurt. I have a broken heart that only Father Time can mend. You see, it won't be long until I'll be losing 31 of my children. I'm so proud of them that I cry whenever I think of them out of my protection. Why. these 31 have the traits that it takes to build a country like America, Let me tell you about their future. How many years from now? How about 20 years? That will be 1971. H-m-m! Well! Why that's the year that Herbie Click will win the Heavyweight Championship Boxing title and Willis Powell will make the world series. He'l1 be another Babe Ruth! Yes. that's the year of sports alright but just look at the next year when Jerry Treat is put on television! The world has its most original comedian when that guy takes over. Why, sometimes l've almost laughed aloud andl actually shook my hand out of place the last time he was in study hall! Yes, they'll be of great service to our country. There's Barbara Mitchell, a cute little WAC, who will be the pride of her community. Jean Ann Blaylock will make a fine school teacher while her old pal, Margaret Condren, will be the secretary of Norman Walkup, the American Airlines Pilot. Cargo and Smith Publishing Co. will publish a new book in the year, 1971, by Audra Prewett the great Novelist. Joyce Benge will be the wonder of the class--for who else could draw a picture of her teacher so perfectly? Bta Simms will be working as a clerk in one of Billy Joe Jenkin's chain stores while Betty Sue l-lutson will be a typist for Charles Reese, the noted scientist. Donald LaBass and Freamon Gibbons will go down in history as the great men who invented the fastest car one would want to drive. , i .i sl Goolp The headlines on November 6, l9"ll will tell how Ott Lee Rogers, the skilled surgeon, made a successful operation on the King of Scotland. Glen Whitmer will fix the soil so that E. W. liles can plant his new invention, the potato that is already peeled. Lew Wentz Stamps will be operating a beauty parlorin Hollywood where that famous giggle, Billie Sue Brown, will be acting like some dumb jerk as Clem Whitmer, the F. B. I. actor, questions her. Then of course, Frank Beller will be their stage director. Kenneth Ragge will still be a Romeo 20 years from now. My! Those girls in study hall just sit and admire him. Gertrude Neal will do more than admireg she will marry the founder of a great oil corporation while Romilda Rust, a noted singer, will marry Billy Ray Shackelford and they will become foreign Missionairies. Billy Gene Martin will be pastoring a great little church in the city of Muldrow a little ways from the School house where he graduated. Sammy Lasiter will be noted for his style of building bridges, but speaking of style, Mary Alice Jones will model the style in l9'7l. Yes, it's sad to lose them but Father Time changes things, even me. Once I tried to be honest but the more I leamed to love the students, the more I've tried to help them out. " And then a springsprung and the old clock began to tick. Mr. Rose rubbed I H- 5? As a class we recognize Adam and Eve as our very, very great grandparents. No marriages are reported, and so far, only one engagement, thls doesn't include broken engagements. However, we are all living in hope, except Don, who regards a mother Ln law a dangerous personage, almost next to a cannibal. Io Ella prefers a long letter from the rrght one, but does not say who the right one ls. Virginia prefers Chevrolets, a bnght green one Melba likes gum, but says she hates boys. Scott Likes a good square meal, prepared by Melva. All that Robert wants is only a million dollars, and a little spending money, so as not to be compelled no work.
