Whitney's computer department is keeping up with the times by offering a complete vari- ety of computer classes. In addition to the regular computer courses, Mt. Whitney's facili- ty also houses TCOVE classes and the entire computer operation for the Visalia Unified School District. Whitney's classes are taught by instructors Peggy Downs, Claude Feaver, and Esmond McNutt. Classes include Word Processing, Data Entry, Computer Languages CBASIC, RPG, PAS- CALJ and Agriculture Computer Management. Introduction to Basic is a beginning course that teaches the student about the computer and how it works. A student who is still interested after this course may elect to take RPC or PASCAL classes which are more advanced and study computer languages. The Word Process- ing and Data Entry courses prepare the student to go directly into office work after graduation from high school. Ag Computer Management guides a student into the ways that the com- puter can be utilized on a farm or ranch. 27
