Frosh 74 Lincoln 39 Wilson 84 Lakeside 35 City Meet Mount Tahoma 3rd This year Mount Tahoma pays special tribute to Coach Wally Streeter. Chairman of the State High School Swim Coaches Committee, Coach Streeter has just completed the final year of a remarkable career. I-Ie began his coaching twenty-five years ago in Hawaii. After spending six years there, he came to Tacoma, thus beginning a nineteen-year tenure as one of the top coaches in the state. After sixteen years at Stadium I-Iigh School, seven of which earned Coach Streeter and his team state championships, he was transferred to Mount Tahoma. Upon arriving, Mr. Streeter immediate- ly began building a team around a nucleus of three lettermen. Since then, he has guided the Thunderbird tankers to improved records each season. Mount Tahorna pays special tribute to the little man with the big smile for his efforts in building a representative team of which We students certainly may be proud. Ninety

TWENTY-FIVE YEARS UF SUCCESSFUL COACHING ,anim- 1-D-i 4 This years edition of the Mount Tahoma swim team certainly proved to be the strongest the Tflfiirds have ever produced. Although the tankers finished the past season third in city competition, they posted a fine collection of victories throughout the year. These included such formidable foes as Lincoln, Puyallup, Curtis, Hoguiam, and Lakeside. With experience being gained as the season progressed, the mermen vastly improved past individual and team marks. This was shown by the fact that all but three school records were broken during the season. Led by an able group of seniors, the TfBirds edged Lincoln in the city meet, again showing their domin- ance over the Abes, Assisting these veterans of the past two years was an exceptional group ot sophomores, thus assuring retiring Coach Streeter's successor a future swim team of great promise.
