Sixty-Four Harrison, D. Kachenko, A. Swanson. The unveiling of beautiful, colorful new uniforms at a pep assembly in November was one of the biggest events of the year for the Mount Tahoma band. Many months of Almond Boca sales and fund-raising pro- jects seemed Well worth the efforts when the splendid outfits of basic black with crimson, gold, and white detailing were first viewed by all. A march through South Tacoma and a barn-storming of stores in the vicinity marked one final chance to sell Almond Boca and to display to the community the new uniforms. The band has added gaiety and school spirit to numerous events throughout the year. Among them were many pep assemblies, football and basketball games, and several concerts in the Mount Tahoma aud.itorium. Its members also presented a program featuring Leonard Smith and the all-city band, and marched in the Daffodil and Veterans' Day parades. ln February, Cathie Laursen was chosen to represent the Mount Tahoma band as their only delegate to the all-state band convention in Yakima. The successful year would not have been possible were it not for the expert guidance of Wayne Timmerman and the leadership of president Iirn Dawson and the other officers. WAYNE TIMMERMAN Director
