Sixty DON SUNDQUIST Director Throughout this past year, the members of Mount Tahoma's music department have proved them- selves capable of excellently representing the school and of presenting a very fine program on every occasion. The Choir has had a very success- ful year. Outstanding among its performances were Christmas appearances at the Elks Temple, Asbury Methodist Church, Western State Hospital, and a radio broadcast from the Winthrop Hotel. Choir has also performed for the Easter sunrise services at Cheney Stadium, and has taken a trip to Longview in an exchange visit with the Longview Choir. A Studio Choir was formed during second semester, and along with the Girls' Trio, Boys' Quartet, and Choir, it gave various performances. Two highlights of the year, both held in February, were the Solo Ensemble Contest at Port Orchard, and the All-State Music Educators Conference at Yakima. Representing Mount Tahorna at the first were Steve Higgins, Mary Dee Hurd, Iudy Stell, Rex Bigelow, and Karin Lundg Dick Burke, Steve Higgins, Iudy Stell, and Rex Bigelow were selected as members of the All-State Choir. TALENTED MEMBERS UF VOCAL BRUUPS SING Members ot the Mixed Chorus performed on many occasions during the year. Under the direction of Don Sundquist, their first appearances were at the Veterans' Day and Thanksgiving Day assemblies for Mount Tahoma students. They Were also seen in the Christmas and spring concerts presented by the music department, and appeared at both Gray and Baker Iunior High Schools.
