VARSITY CLUB The Varsity Club fulfilled its purpose of upholding and promoting true sportsmanship. Members were accepted by participation in one or more sports. Actual membership Was awarded to those boys receiving one varsity letter or two sophomore or reserve letters in the same sport. Besides promoting sportsmanship among its members and the other Mount Tahoma students, Varsity Club en- couraged more boys to turn out for sports. An exhibition of fair play Was viewed, by all sports enthusiasts in the student-faculty game, Which took place on April IO. This fairness Was displayed throughout the sports season. In order to raise money for the club's treasury, the mem- bers sponsored a Donkey Basketball Game on November 30. Taraya, T-Chicks, the G.A.A., proposed and enacted a girls' athletic program to promote health and physical fitness, develop an active interest in the tield ot athletics, and most important ot all, encourage good sportsmanship. This year's T-Chicks Was headed by the president, Pat l-lanly and di- rected by their advisor, Mrs. Scott. The otticers assisting in this year's work were Karren Brown, Vice President, Iean- nie Main, Secretary, and Pat Iohnson, Treasurer. ln September a splash party and cook-out were held. ln Ianuary a hair style demonstration was put on by the members. Also enjoyed through the year were a progress- ive dinner, a roller skating party, and the annual beach party at the home of Mrs. Scott. T-Chicks sponsored a candy sale during October and Ianuary, as in past years, in order to increase the club's treasury. The members of this club included all girls of Mount Tahoma's G.A.A. who had earned their letters. PAT HANLY President MRS. SCOTT Advisor
