GIBL'5 CLUB HELPS TU UNITE GIRLS UF MUUNT MAHSHA STIRN PAT SWANSON IAN SAETHER President Twenty-Eight MRS. BARNER Advisor Vice President Recording Secretary The past year's Girsl' Club has fulfilled its purpose, which is to provide an or- ganization of which all girls of Mount Tahoma are members. lt has succeeded in pro- viding social activities, service projects, and friendship, giving the members a feeling of belonging. Among the many service projects throughout the year, Girls' Club helped in the sale of programs at basketball and football games, made favors for the teachers in Ianuary, held a Thanksgiving Day food drive, with the aid of Key Club, and combined its effort With that of Key Club in planning homecoming activities. Through the year such social activities as a Father-Daughter Banquet, the annual Girls' Club Tolo, and the election and installation of officers were undertaken and car- ried out, to the enjoyment of all. Publication of the bi-weekly newspaper in- volved searching out and compiling information on news- worthy events, preparing copy, proof reading and distribut- ing the final product. A small but determined ad staff ac- quired the necessary funds. February twenty-first and twenty-second Mr. Ryan and. four of the girls from newspaper staff attended the IQB4 All-Coast Press Clinic in Seattle, sponsored by the Univer- sity of Washington School of Communications and Pacific Slope School Press. These representatives attended three conferences and a luncheon each of the two days. Several staff members reopened Mount Tahoma's Quill and Scroll chapter, although there was little time for club activities.
