Although prospects of completing this book looked pretty grim, this spring when deadlines began to appear much too quickly, the l964 Totem Cat times I thought it would be the 1965 Toteml is at last completed. Now that the all-night print-a-thons are over and the book is done, I can get sentimental and thank the many people who have made the 1964 Totem a reality. To Claudia Smathers - I give a hardy thank-you for her excellent job as copy editor and for misspell- ing only l43 names in the Party Line. To Cathy Laurson - Thank you, Cathy. for finishing your section only seven weeks after the dead- line. The class section came through in fine style though I am the only gray-haired senior at Mount Tahoma. To Carol Moore - To Carol goes a big thank-you for a great job on the Organizations section. To Dave Easley - Dave was the annual staff errand boy. He made 197 journeys to the printer this year before he finally found out where Pacific Avenue was. To Frank Boukal - Frank was often called Houdini for his frequent secret journeys about the cam- pus during annual staff. He was great at unleashing my temper and one or two times he even worked on the sports section. To Mary McCulloch - Mary was a welcome addition to annual staff. She did an outstanding job on the class section and her laugh does wonders for a headache. To Cathy Sinclair - Cathy is the only person I know who can miss 47 days of school, get a 4.0 grade point and do a great job as business manager all in the same year. To Ian Robben and Cathy Colyar - Although procrastination reigned supreme for a long time, the royalty section came through in fine style. To jim Endicott - Mr. HardWorker was the reason that seniors will be getting their books before they graduate. Iim had a very organized section. Football copy was written April 30th and swimming pics were taken only three months after the last meet. To Val' Morford and Ieri Cozine - Val and Ieri did a beautiful job as artists, and a frustrated editor couldn't ask for two greater friends. To Ward Mewhirter - Ward was always making journeys for the good of the staff. We couldn't have made it without his trips to Mount Tahoma Diner and a certain cheerleaders Ward also brews a great batch of coffee. To Pat Swanson Q Pat was responsible for the excellent coverage of girls' sports. It wasn't difficult, though, since Mount Tahoma has an abundance of female athletes. To Iohn Miller - Iohn's insistence on high quality photography even at times when speed seemed more important, was at times frustrating, but is appreciated now that the deadline pressure is off and the all-night print-a-thons are over. To Nella Steckler -- Congratulations on your coverage of Mount Tahoma's slave drivers Cfacultyl. Petro did a great job on her section and made our night time annual sessions more enjoyable. To Iohn Noble - Iohn was our sales manager. We only lost l47 dollars, and Iohn managed to buy a set of chromed wheels. I can't figure it out. To Mr. Ryan - Mr. Ryan is more than an advisor. He is a psychologist, moralist, and most of all, a friend. Thank you, Mr. Ryan, for being the person you are. Thanks to johnson-Cox Printers, Richards Studios, and Smith Craft Covers for their help on the Totem. With their tremendous assistance, the 1964 Totem became a reality. To the Senior Class - I extend a personal thank you to three hundred of the finest people I have ever known for giving me the most rewarding year of my life. May the future hold something great in store for each of you. Most of all, to the students and faculty of Mount Tahoma, I extend a thank you for your assistance on completing the I964 Totem and for contributing to Mount Tahoma's greatness. I hope you enjoy the 1964 Totem. THE EDITOR One-Hundred Ninety One
