Alma Maier
Alma Mater famed and glorious
Rev'rently we sing your praise
May your colors ride victorious
Guiding youth in fruitful ways
Loyal stands each son and daughter
To the truths you hold in store
Dear Mount Carmel, Alma Mater
God bless and guide thee evermore.
Hemmed in hills of laurel woodland
Gems of black beneath your soil
Alma Mater bound by courage and
Sanctified by men of toil!
Hearts are swelling, proudly telling
Of Mount Carmel we revere
May your teaching keep us reaching
Up and onward, year by year!

My dear Graduates:
You have now completed the first major step
in your education-yet education itself is a
continuing process and there are still many
steps to be hurdledg whether these steps are
attained in a higher institution of learning, at
home or in industry. We learn by doingg so it
is my earnest hope that wherever your future
paths may lead that you will always remember
your school and the teachers who have initiated
your education. You have a moral obligation to
use your mind constantly for the improvement
of your daily life because intelligence alone will
bring order out of confusion and lift humanity
to a new level of achievement
May happiness and success be yours in all
future endeavours'
Sincerely

So lrve that when thy summons comes to jom
The rnnumerable caravan which moves
To that mysterlous realm where each shall take

Thou go not lrke the quarry slave at nrght
Scourged to h1s dungeon but sustalned and soothed

On Initiation Day we were given a warm welcome into this High School. Everybody
had a swell time.
The Sophomore Class, under the excellent guidance of its advisors Mrs. Ramona Cecil
and Timothy Barnes, had a very successful card campaign and hope to do better with the
selling of magazines. All the students of the class were very cooperative in this enterprise.
The class also held its first dance in the gym and that proved very successful. We all
hope to have a pleasant stay here and will do our best to help in the school activities.
