WWW The Library Club was first organized as to members in the spring of 1948. ln September of the school year 1948-49 the club officially took over the organization and running of the library. During that first year the library club weeded out old books, classified and numbered all books according to the Dewey Decimal System, started a catalog file, set up circulation procedures, and opened the library for the use of students and faculty. In 1949 the Mountair P. T. A. presented the library with Funds to buy new books. Since its beginning the library has grown in offering the school new fiction books, better reference books, and a good selection of magazines. The purpose of the library club is to serve the school and supply the students with the right book at the right time. f Sponsor ....... President ....... Vice-President Secretary ..... Prem Not many people really know what hard and long hours of work go into the making of our newspaper, the GREEN and GOLD GAZETTE. All reporters get their stories in seven days before the paper comes out, but human nature seldom brings them in on time. The following Friday the editor and staff meets to proofread, rewrite and compose heads for all the copy. After the page-proof is corrected, it is sent to the printers who run off enough papers for everyone in school to have his own copy of the GREEN and GOLD GAZETTE.
