THE FUTURE SHIP OF THE IUNIORS
One even1ng as I was stroll1ng along Hlghway 71 I chanced to meet
a fatry After becommg thoroughly acquamted l asked her why she
was not rn Fa1ryland She then told me she was sent to se how the
ch1ldren she entered tn school som years ago were suc eedmg
The fatry then called my attent1on to a very beau 1ful young lady
rust stepplng out of a car Th1S young lady happened to be Lots Dur
brow noted for the famous book she had Just wntten
My eyes begrnnmg to t1re I rested them then looked agam and
could hardly belxeve 1t when I saw my two old frvends Artre Satterheld
and Steven Bruce Gregory do1ng such splendld work on the battlefrelds
of Russxa
The reflecnon moved so raptdly that l could hardly d1st1ngu1sh the
characters By lookxng closely I recogn1zed Rudy Schoeppe he wonder
ful woman swrmmer practxcmg to enter the worlds contest at San
Franctsco Calrfomxa
All at once my vxsxon van1shed and I was beglnnmg to th1nk I
was not go1ng to see the rest of my old school fnends I was about to
tu'n away when the fa1ry sa1d Look and there before me was an
rmage tn mtnxsters clothmg Thls reverend personage proved to be
Mar1on Allen now do1ng such wonderful work rn reorgan1z1ng the Heathen
And what a Joy 1t was to behold the countenance of good natured
Margxe Caselman who IS now holdmg the exalted role of housewrfe
at Mt Burg Arkansas whrch has now grown to be a CIIY of twenty frve
hundred
We naturally look to those who have ldeals to do hrgh thmgs Hence
I was not surpnsed to fmd Bob Mertel a successful avxator makxng the
greatest record for brmgmg down alrplanes rn World War Three
A crowd of merrymakers was the next oblect before my eyes and
as the vs1on became clearer I recognlzed the happy faces of Bon1ta
Allen Hazel S111 hm Meredtth Iessxe Lee Young and Carl Gregory at
an old fa hroned square dance glven at the beaut1ful country home of
Charlme Lmder
By thxs trme I had begun to wonder what had happened to Lee
Morgan and Ixm Vaught and I asked the fa1ry to tell me about them
She told me that they were tourxng the world as the or1g1nal Katzemammer
Keds Hans and Fntz
At thxs mstant a lxght flashed across the water and the v1s1on
vanrshed As I looked up to questron the falry she had vamshed also
leavrng these prctures of my old Mounta1nburg Hxgh School classmates
engraved upon my memory
