This season finds the Junior Varsity tennis team young and lacking in depth, but the desire and hustle of the freshmen players should make up for the lack of ex- perience. Tom Acevedo returns as the top singles player, while freshmen Dave Worden and Ruben Xegrete are challenging for the top spot. O Varsity Tennis: This year ' s varsity tennis team is looking to Improve on last season ' s 6-13 record. With returning letterman Mark Brown, Verne Luxenburg, and Art Lugo leading the way, the team shapes up as being the best group of netters in the Vikings short four year history. At presstime the Varsity record stands at 3 wins and 2 losses. Senior Mark Brown, the number one ranked tennis player at Mountain View for the past four years, has already run his individual record to 19 wins and 1 loss. Also off to fine start are Luxenburg with a 17-2 record and Lugo with a 15 win -5 loss effort.
