MIDDLE ROW (LEFT TO RIGHT) Chauncy Navarro, David Flores, Israel Martinez, Joe Martinez, Richard Flores, Phil Taylor. FIRST ROW (LEFT TO RIGHT) Rick Tackett, Camille Rodriguez, Ron Drelleshak, Debbie Moreau, Omar Arrula. Track Team Although lacking depth and overall strength, this year ' s VARSITY TRACK TEAM has several outstanding individuals which should make the team very competitive throughout the season. Return- ing league champions Ron Drelleshak (Varsity 120 low hurdles) and sophomore Everett Pacheco (Frosh Soph 880) will both be looking to repeat as champions in their events. As of early March, Pacheco had run the 880 in 2:01 and the mile in 4:32.6, both which are ex- cellent early season marks. Freshman sensation Mike Earnest, at presstime, had already cleared 13 ' 0 in the pole vault, which is a new school record, and he will be looking to better his personal best of 13 ' 6 . Both Pacheco and Earnest will probably compete in the Frosh Soph division for GIF competition. Also expected to contribute points will be distance runner Raymond Rodriguez, who will be running the mile and two -mile, sprinters Omar Arrula, Richard Flores, and Israel Martinez, and Weightman John Goodsell, who will be trying to break the school record in the shot put. 186 Coaches: Ted Martinez, James Contreras, Ralph Hernandez.
