J. V. Basketball BACK ROW: Coach Art Harrington, Kelly Autrey, Mike London, Steve Davis, Freddie Valadez, Greg Garrison, Mike Folden, FRONT ROW: Ken Grund (manager), Joe Sanchez, Charlie Gil. Alan Kano, Mark Warm. The JV basketball team established a new school scoring record this year as they regis- tered 104 points against Mark Keppel. The team played very well throughout the season, averaging 64 points a game. Most Valuable Player Greg Garrison was the outstanding player for the team, averaging 12.5 points per game. With center Tim Coats directing the team effort, the Sophomore basketball squad won the consolation trophy at the Rosemead Sophomore Basketball Tournament. Coats, voted the most valuable player, averaged 11 points per game and was the team ' s leading rebounder. Overall, the team won 7 games on the season while losing 16. The frosh basketball team, led by most valuable Alfred Flores, ended up the season with a 12 win, 11 loss overall, record. Their best moment of the year came early in the season as they won the consolation bracket of the Mark Keppel Frosh Basketball Tournament. The frosh soph basketball team, under coach Jim Contreras, came up short In many of their games, but made a good effort throughout the season.
