Champs The 1974 Junior Varsity football team became the second championship team in the short history of the school as they went unbeaten through the league. The team was defensively orientated as they recorded three shutouts and limitedtheir opponents to 44 points in 7 games. Linebacker Mark Warm topped the defensive unit as he led the team in both unassisted and assisted tackles. Defensive back Charlie Gil had 5 interceptions on the seaso n, one which sa ved a 6-0 v ictory over El Monte. Albert Vargas recorded the outstanding defensive effort of the year against Monrovia as he had 12 tackles and 8 assists. The Offensive unit was opportunistic, often using the big play to score. Running back Tom Gil was hB squad ' s leading rusher as he gained 574 yards on the ground.
