FRONT ROW: Paula Painter, Melinda Peyers, TyraRose, Theresa Torres, Sandy Hazel, Jesse Ramirez. Ms, Grace Shammas has been spon- sor of C. S. F, ever since the school opened in September 1971. According to Ms, Shammas, the best thing that happened to C, S, F, students, were the trips to the universities and the uni- versity football games. She thinks the requirements for CSF are too discriminating because a student with all A ' s may or may not qualify for C, S, F, Also, the fact that physical Education does not count is regressive, because physical Education is as academic as the instructor chooses to have it. Also Ms. Shammas does not anticipate any change in C.S.F. because it is a state organiza- tion and the school does not set the standards. When asked what student she thought was outstanding, she said that she couldn ' t choose just one individ- ual, because they are all exceptional people. After the fall semester she will relinquish the sponsorship of C.S.F. Ms, Shammas will miss the relation- ship with the students of C. S. F. but just as important, the students of C.S.F. will miss her. msl 152 The Second semester started off CSF with a new Spon- sor. Her name is Miss Patricia Duran. Miss Duran is the new sponsor of C. S. F. She wants to help those students that are planning on going to college, get information and hopefully provide the information to the students on Scholar- ships and the universities and colleges that offer them. C. S. F. was not advertised at her high school too much and she didn ' t really know about it. As sponsor she would like to take some field trips to various colleges give the students an opportunity to get to know colleges that they could possibly attend in the future. We ' ll miss Ms Shammas but we will get to know Miss Duran and like her just as much.
