CLASS lt was plain to be seen right from the beginning that the class of '55 was no or- dinary class. The term green, green Freshmen didn't even begin to describe us. Nothing less thana deep, dark emer- ald shade seemed to fit us. Our sponsors took one look at us and groaned. Being good teachers, though, they accepted the challenge knowing that if they made something out of this group, the day of miracles wasn't past. So if we were much improved at the end of our Freshmen year, we owe a rousing vote of thanks to Miss Howard, Miss Barker, Miss Green and Mr. Reibold. The officers chosen to control this class were Eugenia Redman, gavel rapper, Myrna Goodwin, V. P. and Program chair- man, Janice Rinnert, who scri bled the minutes, Gene Buchanan, the check and balance boy, and Gayle Farris, the his- tory writer. One of the first things we did was elect Shirley Patmore as our candidate for the Grid-Iron Queen Crowning and later in the year Janice Rinnert was chosen to repre- sent our class in the Basketball Queen Crowning. We were disappointed when we didn't come up with a queen, "But iiust wait until next year! " was our rep y. "Anybody want to buy a hot dog?" This was the uestion everyone was ask when the Fresimen sold concessions at the Basketball games. The year passed quickly but all things must come to an end. Still trying to be different, we ended our Freshmen year with a class picnic at the reen Athletic Park, which proves two slgiades of green do go well together. F The next year we got off to a flying start as Silly Sophomores when we elected our officers. They were John Breiner, Gerald Jeffries, Janice Rinnert, and Myrna Goodwin. Our sponsors were Mr. Martin, Mrs. Martin, and Mr. Brown. We made our last year's threat ood when our Football candidate, Ga le Jfarris, was Maid-of-Honor and Martha Gowan was crowned Basketball Queen. Just think, a Queen and Maid-of-Honor both in our Sophomore year! Then came the exciting event of our Sophomore life--the Donkey Basketball Game. Everyone was anxious to ride a Donkey, but the day after the night before was a different story. We came to school groaning and moaning about our aching acks. ut when its all said and done, we had a lot of fun during our silliest year, our Sophomore year. HISTORY Jolly Juniors! This was the nickname we picked up next, and were we jolly when we got our jackets. The new junior jackets were seen everywhere for the next week. Everyone was showing off that "55" emblem. We started the cycle of our Junior year by choosing Gerald Jeffries, Ed Kingsley, Larry Morlock, and Allyn Simp- son as class officers. We had our second Queen this year. Myrna Goodwin was crowned Football Queen, and Janice Rinnert was Basketball Maid-of-Honor. Magazines! This was our money-mak- ing project this year, All the Juniors sold magazines but we didn't quite make our goal. Janice Seifert was our high salesman and Larry Morlock was second high sale- man. "Have you seen the Juniors' rings?" This was what all the other classes were asking each other. We thought they were the prettiest rings ever. Then came t e Prom. We had come a long way since we entered this school, and we elt very sophisticated when we en- tertained the Seniors with an "Evening In Paris." We give all our thanks to our sponsors, Mrs. Martin, Mr. Martin and Mr. Brown for helping us make our Prom a success. At last, our Senior year! We started off by choosnig Larry Blubaum as Presi- dent of our class, with Gene Buchanan, Myrna Goodwin and Allyn Simpson as the rest of our executive committee. Our sponsors this year were Mr. Abel, Miss Barger, and Miss Woods. Janice McFad- den, our Football Candidate, was chosen Football Queen. We now have had three Queens in the history of our class. Then we sold Christmas cards and stationery. The high salesmen were Anita Moore, Kellie All redge and Martha Cow- an. Our Senior Play "I Love Lucy" was a big hit. Then came Prom time again. Even though we missed the fun and excite- ment of preparing for it, it was nice. We thank you, Juniors, for the lovely Prom. Now it is commencement week and everyone is planning for our out-door commencement. Everybody knows we have to be different and this is one way of showing it. Even though we have had our share of setbacks and hardships, we feel our four years have been a great success which proves that truly IT'S A GREAT LIFE. W' A A A 5381165 W' 7- 'q K . A AQ, ,r - 7 .
