Summit schools came several bright and shiny faces. Later this was the class to be known as the Class of '59. The first grade teacher at Springport was.Mrs. Reed. Those who started there were: Mary Chilton, Melvin Bun- ner and Anna Lee Parker. The first grade teach- er, at Mt. Summit was Mrs. Chalfont. And the ones who started at Mt. Summit were: Bill Bergmann, John Hedges, Charles Savage, Jean Ripberger and Shirley Smith. In the second grade at Springport they still had as their teacher Mrs. Reed. And another student, too, Carolyn Scrogham. ln the second and third grades at Mt. Summit we had as our teacher Mrs. Newton. In the fourth grade we had as our teacher Mrs. Ransdall. ln the fourth grade at Springport they had Mrs. Blair and some more students. They included Glenda Martin and Norman Waters. In the fifth and sixth grades at Springport they had Mt. Meyers as their teacher, and one more student, Geneda Marcum. In the fifth and sixth at Mt. Summit we had as our teacher Mrs. Brenneman. One new student was added in the fifth grade, Ella Sue Warren. Then in the seventh grade Mt. Summit and Springport ioined together as one big class. ln the eighth grade we had Linda Rogers from New Castle ioin the big happy family. In the freshman year we had some more join the big gang-Shirley England, Dick Fullhart and Roger Buck. ln our sophomore year we had the last of our class ioin us, they included Ray Godby, Jane Meade and Wilbur Moistner. At the beginning of our junior year we gave the play entitled "Mister Co-Ed." In our senior year we gave the play "Meet Me at the Prom." We have lost several of our class through that time-worn hazard-marriage. Once we num- bered 34. Today we number only 19. This is the history of the Class of 1959.
