In class or out, the faculty has the ability to enjoy them- selves and are known on Mt. SAC campus to 'be humanf Be they addressed Doctor, Professor, Miss, Mrs., or Mr., all open their offices to students who may have an individual problem. Serving as educa- tional pathfinders, the administrators of Mt. San Antonio led the residents of the Valley successfully through another year. Under their counsel and direction the students found their most productive program and began their way. The faculty was ever- ready with advice, friendship, and an open ear to all problems. The doors of the counseling offices were always free swinging when the question of "What to take next?" came up. . X ,Mit ' ' 'fiqkviu 1 f. Either way the score fell, the Moun- taineers backed their teams all the way. Colliding on the gridiron, scrabhling on the courts, toppling records on the cinder path, or batting runs on the dia- mond helped to evolve an interesting year of sports. In the following section We have caught glimpses of the Mounties in action with the results of our games played. I .,' F' :gf . 1K'21'ff5fyff- V .L "Z, ' ?.ff1Z',,.-,-ix, -W 5, - 1, , 1. E 4 i V- 'rn THE v LLE f Eeep' in the heart of -adjustment, the new freshman class fell u s . wing into a new life found on the college campus. Orien- tation wasnt the easiest thing, but with. each day passing and h . anot er experience learned, the adjustments came quickly for this year's entering Mountaineers. A Sent on their way with tips from upperclassmen, the frosh made a place for themselves in this Valley of knowledge and friendship. Scrubbing the Mt. Sac emblem was perhaps the easiest phase of orientation, for they had more difficult adjust- ments to make in a field of growing maturity. Now at the close of this first year, they have learned the ingredientsof this devel- opment in all sorts of formulas and plans which will, in the year 759, produce a graduating class well prepared for future endeavors. They begin next year as graduating Sophomores and now know the secrets of accomplishment and adjustment. Q all M 6 as ll CLASS OP '59 L n Ted Kolb, freshman class president, led the administration of the freshman class with the help of a very effective executive council. They provided an active year for the entering freshmen. The year began with the annual August 'Freshmen Day." The Delegates of Mt. Sac student government and activities orientated the new students on the planned events for the year. Election of class officers followed with the tallying of an executive council to assist President Kolb. They are: lack Wade, Vice Presidentg Sharyn Whalen, Secretaryg and Sandra Ely, Treasurer.
