May it be a reminder of pleasant memories to past generations. To those who shall pass through its portals in the future, may it be a beacon of light, guiding their footsteps to- ward enlightenment, understanding and godliness that this may be a better world in which to live. Many years have passed since we, the Seniors, entered into the sacred halls of M. O, H, S. Now we pause to look once more at our activities for the past four years. You, the underclassmen, have played an important part in making this a yearbook to remember. May it bring enjoyment of remembering, laughter of experiences, and sadness of leaving, as you unfold its memorable pages. Our first session is in home room where we answer roll call and organ- ize our day's work. We enter to learn. Sports are a very important section of the Mohi and Geraldine Whitfield is getting the low-down on each one. Janice Jones, head typist, keeps her typists, I. H. Q, 19' if 4 Nancy Linda Judy Reginald "' 'J Harold Pinky Class H istory To step across the threshold into High School marks the beginning of four wonderful years. It is the beginning of a whirlwind of activities, parties, athletics, and of course, school work. In September of 1955, forty bewildered Freshmen became a part of Mount Olive High School, A look at our new surroundings and duties frightened us, but as the year progressed we soon became acquainted with our new responsibi- lities, Our officers for that year were Linda Skipper, President, Billy Bracey, Vice President, and Jimmy Batson, Secretary-Treasurer, Better acquainted with the rules of high school, we entered our Sophomore year with forty-five members, We elected for our class officers Harold Cook, Presidentg P, K, Sutton, Vice Presidentg and Blanche Casey, Secretary-Treas- urer. To expand our class funds we had a talent show anda Halloween Dance, This year we had six waiters and waitresses chosen to attend the climax of the year, the Junior-Senior Banquet. This was quite an honor! Entering into our Junior year brought many new thrills and new responsibili- ties. One was raising money for the Junior -Senior Banquet, To increase our funds, the class sponsored many money -making projects. On May 2, how proud we were to give our banquet with "Oriental Gardens" as our theme. Chosen by the forty-five Juniors as leaders for this wonderful year were Harold Cook, President, Vann May, Vice President: Linda Skipper, Secretary: and Blanche Casey, Treasurer, Norma Carole was chosen F. H.A. Queen and Gail King was elected F,F,A, Sweetheart, Now, looked up to by the underclassmen, our forty -three Seniors enter their final year, Harold Cook was chosen Presidentg Vann May, Vice President, Gail King, Secretary, and Blanche Casey, Treasurer. This busy year we had many things to look forward to, class rings, Senior Play, publication of the MOHI, the Washington trip, the Junior-Senior Banquet, and last but not least. our caps and gowns. This year Norma Carole Summerlin represented our school in the "Miss Holiday" Contest and was county winner. Gail King was named Miss Mount Olive High, Many of our high school memories have been omitted for there is not space or words to express them. But on these last few days of May, going through our old familiar routines for the last times, we realize that our high school years are the happiest and most wonderful years of our lives and we shall always cherish them.
