WSW? , ' .A ,Q x-,Mwf we milf 3 ff ,A hr, ' 1 ? 0 Alb: Us n f -8 I I Y N 1 - 'I 1""" mx., '37 James Kime Herbert Johnson Joan Nlchlos Don MCL rmhrldge l resldent Vice President Secretar Treasui er Chronicle of the Laughing Braves The Laughing Braves section of the Morris Redskrn tribe gathered on September 6 1949 for their fn st pow Wow of the new season These Braves had gained new stature now being next in line for graduation from the tribal wrgwam The Braves entered their W season with great diligence Their first pr ogect of the year was the Lauoh ing B1 aves plav Little Women For their efforts they received much praise and much Wampum fr om mem bers of the Redskins and manv neighboring tr rbes Manv members of the I aughing Braves were well known 1n the tribe for then athletic prowess skill in drama speech making and scholarship The Braves sponsored two tr 1bal dances, one in honor of St. Patrick, and the other on May 12, honoring their elder brothers, the Chieftains. As a farewell to the Chieftains, a feast was prepared and served by the Braves before the dance. The Braves used "underwater fantasy" as their theme for this farewell feast and dance. All agreed that this Was a fitting tribute to the Chieftains and a thrilling moment for all tribe members and guests. The Braves look forward to their final Redskin season, hoping to be the first members to leave the tribe from the new Wigwam. George Phillips WWW WW' John Larsen Robert Blame Dale Nelson Jame Sullnan President Vlce President Secretarv '1 reasurer Chronicle of the Llttle Brothers When the tribe roll was called on September 6 1949 the Little Brothers again were the lar est section of the Redskm tribe numbering ninety four Voun braves and maidens Surer than the newcomers these Little Brothers gathered early for the purpose of choos mg tribe leaders and making plans for a bi ger and better year One of the Little Brothers was outstanding in trlbc sports making the Redskm football Varsity Thi ee ot their maiden members became well known in the tribe as leaders of the warhoop The Little Brothers were leaders in tribal dances holding one after a football game and another in honor of St Valentine They were also leaders in many tribal organizations and their scholarshrp was high The Little Brothers climaxed their second year in the Wigwam by presenting a never-to-be-forgotten show for the pleasure of the whole tribe.
