Under the direction of Gary Sheppeard, the band program at Mount Ida schools boasts a high school band igrades 7-125, an elementary band igrades 5-65, a marching band, concert band, stage band, as well as small group ensembles. One of the highlights of each football game is the halftime performance by the marching band with its lively music and talented majorettes. Seasonal performances are staged by the concert band with music appropriate for each occasion. The competitive events attended each year by band members yield honors from many sources.
