The unfulfilled dreams of the past ride away on the rays of the dying crimson ball, And left are only the gentle colors that drift as bonfire smoke on the winds of fall. At the bottom of the colorful sky lies the tree-lined black horizon of our past fears, And at some point beyond the colors, there lie the sunrises of dreams and hopes of new years. ln the memories of yesterday, we see the ever-changing answers of tomorrow, And in the happiness of life's sunrise, we see the pain of a sunset of sorrow. Agri Department Gymnasium The things we remember most vividly are often not the big events in our lives, but rather, the everyday occurrences. We remember rushing to arrive at school before the second bell, finding our own special places in the lobby, hearing Miss Green's voice resounding through the halls, scrambling to get to our lockers at break time, studying for six weeks' tests, walking to town for lunch, exchanging notes in the hall, and singing the Alma Mater at pep assemblies. The food is good and the conversation lively Carla works on her typing speed Will, Steve and Annette pertorm an experiment. .l Atmosphere In The Classroom A classroom can be anywhere - the hard floor of a basketball court for P. E., the soft seats of the auditorium for music, a wooded area on the edge of town for forestry, or equipment- filled rooms for chemistry. Regardless of its location, the classroom is wherever learning occurs. -ai Tenth grade girls learn how to can in Home Ec ll. Mrs. Jones gives music instruction Matt Kreuger and Tim Chambers investigate. Mr. Watkins teaches his forestry class in a natural setting People We Knew Flick Bostow demonstrates his serve. Ideas are exchanged at the "smokers' lounge." The people who reached out to touch us and lend a helping hand will be remembered above all - the teacher who took an interest in your special ability or talent and helped you to develop it to the fullestg the friend with whom you were cam- pusedg the person that was there through all the trying years. As we pass through life, people have the greatest effect on our lives. They influence our personalities and help us grow to become the people that we are. Of all the things put here on this earth to make us happy, surely the greatest gift of all is the gift of human beings different from our- selves. Now, as we face the future and leave behind the rooms of MIHS, we must conquer yet another kind of classroom - the classroom of life. In this class, there is no graduation - only continual growth. As we start this journey, it is easy to be afraid of the obstacles and responsibilities that stand between us and success, but all classrooms have teachers, and life ls no exception. When the mystery of life surrounds us and indeclsion attacks our minds, look to life's best teacher, the past. The memories of yesterday's experience can often show us the answer. As we leave the classes of MIHS and face the class of life, we are not afraid. Within these walls, we learned our lessons well, and now we wish to say "Thank you."
