Commander Strickland holds the following military decorations and awards: Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal with Cluster, Meritorius Unit Commendation, National Defense Service Med- al, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with three campaign stars, Vietnam Meritorius Unit Medal with Palm, Vietnam Civil Action Medal with-Palm, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Medalha Merito Tamandare award from the Govemment of Brazil. Commander Strickland is married to the former CHONG HEE OH of Seoul, Korea. They have a son and daughter, Jeffrey and Melissa.

DQCUTIVK LIEUTENANT COMMANDER STEVEN M. MONDUL, USN FORMER EXECUTIVE OFFICER Lieutenant Commander Steven M. Mondul was relieved as Executive Officer of MOUNT HOOD in April, 1977. Heibegan his naval career as a graduate of the NROTC program of Miami University of Ohio, where he was commissioned an Ensign in 1964. He has served in the Mediterranean area, in Hawaii and in the Western Pacific aboard destroyers and service ships. He participated in the Foreign Exchange Duty program as a member of the staff of the Commamder of the Canadian Maritime Command. He is married and has two children.
