Tri-Rivers Offers Skills ln 25 Areas Classroom and shop experiences, labs and related in- struction, and on-the-job training are all a part of the Tri- Rivers program. Fifty-four Mount Gilead students are spending their junior and senior years learning a skill which will help them to become successful in the marketplace. Courses such as Electrical Tades, Law Enforcement, Agri- cultural Mechanics, Data Accounting, and Diversified Health Occupations are only a few of the 25 vocational skill areas offered at the JVS. l f f ,I QAQJQWW if Yf W M -if Part of Karla Evans' Food Service instruction includes working in the Eagle Inn, Tri-Rivers' restaurant. W, Grace Lentz works on a typing assignment in class. ln Unique School Program This year the Mount Gilead Schools instituted an unique educational program for Senior Citizens. Any senior citizen could enroll in numerous high school classes free of charge. Senior citizens attended classes, completed as- signments, took tests, and received grades just like their younger classmates. Four local citizens completed the en- tire school year's work. Bob Osborne enrolled in Algebra and Spanish, Margaret Miley in Local History and Art, Grace Lentz in Typing, and Doris West in bookkeeping. Regular high school students and senior citizens both found the program an enjoyable and rewarding learning experience. iff... tffjjyl . i r MF Mrs. Lentz shows Mrs. Kennedy the Certificate ot Achievement she received from the Mount Gilead Schools for participating in the senior citizen program.
