SENIUR CLASS HISTUHY ln 1932 a memorable event TOOK place at Mount Gilead Schools. The Class of 44 began its battle for education under the instruction of Miss Beckley. After a year of hardships, we advanced to the second grade. From then on for the next four years, we spent our time drilling on the fundamentals of elementary subjects. During this time we took part in several operettas. A great day in our lives was the one on which we entered the seventh grade. Then, in the freshman year, we chose our voca- tions and followed them through the next three years. Our junior year was devoted largely to preparation for the Iunior-Senior Prom and our class play, Vivacious Lady. Our remaining year in school has been our happiest. We have produced another class play, The Double Door and published this book. We shall never forget the glorious times we have had in the school and we hope the school will not forget us. Now we wish to pay tribute to those members of our class who through death were not able to complete the school years with us. They are: grade. the fourth grade. . Alice lrons, whom we lost in our eighth year in school Alice and Marion and Bobby will never be forgotten by the members of our class whose friends they were. Marion Turner, who left us the summer following the third Robert Wolcott, who was taken from us the year we attended

Dear Friends: The school days of the Class of 4-4 have come to a close. As a representative of our class, it is my privilege to tell you of the deep regret with which we part from our friends, both student and faculty, of Mount Gilead High School. The days we spent in school were the happiest we shall ever know. We know we shall miss all our good times at school and we hope we will not be forgotten. Our future will loe made of battles both real and abstract. The knowledge we have gained here will help us to fight. With all these in mind we bid farewell to all of you. Connie Loren, Editor.
