FUUTBALL With Giffin as captain and Bletzacker calling the signals, the Mt. Gilead football team went through the 1942 season winning one game, tieing one, and dropping five. This year the Indians had a new coach, Robert Blose, who had formerly coached at Carey High School. He was assisted by the new agriculture tea- cher, Melvin Myers, from Clyde, Ohio. At the start of this season, the team had only two letter-men, Dumbaugh and Giffin, re- turning this year. This, in addition to a num- ber of minor injuries during the year, may account for the failure to improve last year's record. The team for next year will have the advantage of six letter-men returning: Goff, Turner, Hammond, Braden, Tennant, and Parks.
